Once again this year, GIVI is supporting the greatest motorcycle champions!

One of the longest GIVI partnerships has once again been confirmed for this year.  We are talking about the brand’s historical sponsorship of the LCR Honda Team, managed by its founder, Lucio Cecchinello, who will be lining up two motorcycles this year.  The team will continue to entrust the first ride of the RC213V to the established British Champion Cal Cruthlow who we are hoping will generate even more rewards and results for the team.  In 2017, Crutchlow began his third consecutive season as the Team’s title holder rider and in Argentina he stepped up to the podium having achieved third place, right behind Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi.  During 2017 Crutchlow achieved four finishes in third place and three finishes in fifth place so we are anticipating a brilliant 2018!
It has also been confirmed that for 2018 GIVI will be partnering Ducati Corse and for this year our logo will be visible on the livery of the fabulous 2018 Ducati Desmo GP being ridden by Andrea Dovizioso and on that of the Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo.  Following an abundance of success during 2017, GIVI is proud to reconfirm its support of the Team.  Andrea Dovizioso began the season with a second place in Qatar and on June 4th he won the Gran Premio at Mugello.  Victory was also secured at the following GP in Catalonia. The fifth place achieved by Dovizioso at the Holland Gran Premio in Assen instantly launched him into the World Championship.  After a sixth place in Brno, he came back with a victory in Austria, with the race ending in a duel with Marquez as both riders came into the final bend.  Dovizioso won twice in a row, with a fourth place at the Silverstone Seasonal where he cut through the finish line ahead of the Yamahas ridden by Vinales and Rossi, thus reclaiming his position at the top of the worldwide rankings.  During the San Marino Gran Premio he finished in third place and won in both Japan and Malaysia.  Dovizioso ended the season in second place with 261 points, fighting right up to the final moment, making the hearts of all the two wheel fans from Borgo Panigale beat a little faster.  It really has been a great year!
For 2018, GIVI has confirmed that once again the brand will be lending support to the Puccetti Kawasaki Racing Team and the partnering up of Randy Krummenacher and Jonathan Rea has certainly achieved a number of pleasing results.  The first, with two races ahead of the final championship, was crowned World Champion and became the first rider in the history of the sport to win three consecutive seasons!  In a final race in Spain at the Jerez circuit, thanks to Krummenacher doubling up with Rea, Kawasaki won the Constructors’ title for the third time.  For Superbike 2018, the Puccetti Team will be lining up the talented Toprak Razgatlioglu who will be arriving from Superstock 1000.  The forecast is looking excellent as during the winter tests he clocked-up the fifth fastest time, pretty good for a “novice” in this category.
The Supersport World Championship was also very rewarding for the team.  The season kicked off with a few difficulties when champion Kenan Sofouglu was forced to sit out the first two races of the calendar due to injury. In just one month following his injury, the Turkish champion made an incredible recovery along with an exceptional comeback, conquering an unexpected third place and marking the fastest time in the race.  The season ended with a second place resulting in 161 points!   It was only due to injury that the Turkish rider was unable to win his sixth consecutive World Championship in the category.
GIVI would like to convey its very best wishes to all of the champions, wishing them all the best of luck for the new season!
Explore. Enjoy. With GIVI
We also have Lorenzo Zanetti from Team Motocorsa who will be competing in the CIV in the Superbike category and will be riding a Ducati Panigale.  The rider from Brescia will also be involved in designing a race version of the new V4 Ducati, exclusively for the Ducati Racing Department.
