The increasing concerns related to the COVID-19 virus global epidemic, and expecting more and more governments to impose large scale travel restrictions in the coming weeks, we are regrettably forced to cancel "THE NEW ZEALAND EXPLORER 2020" tour, which was slated to take place from March 29 to April 6, 2020 in New Zealand.

We are taking this unavoidable step with a heavy heart, especially after pouring significant logistic and financial efforts into the organization of one of GIVI's top events of the year. However, it would be irresponsible to ignore the signs of a really serious global situation and expose anybody to any risk.

ALL IS SET FOR THE INCREDIBLE NEW GIVI EXPLORER TOUR 2020: A 2,066 KM “ADVENTURE TOUR” EXPLORING NEW ZEALAND!

Once again, the time of year has come for GIVI to announce the destination of its traditional GIVI Explorer Tour. Get ready for forests, beaches and Maori culture, because the destination chosen for our explorers this year is none other than New Zealand!

The adventure tour will last from 29 March to 5 April, a staggering 2,066 km exploration of the country the Maori call “Aotearoa”, or The Land of the Long White Cloud.

The power that this land has to fascinate comes from the diversity of its scenery, which ranges from rainforests to dizzying mountain peaks and breath-taking coastlines. It also comes from the culture and hospitality of its people, who make every tourist feel like part of the family and its culinary tradition, with a wealth of delicacies to satisfy all tastes.

The explorers will set out from Christchurch, on the east coast of the South Island. Here, in one of the world’s least populated areas, visitors can enjoy almost completely unspoilt nature.

Heading north from here, riders will stop in Kaikoura, where they will take part in a whale-watching tour as well as other unforgettable experiences. They will then pass through the wilderness of the north as they make their way to the other side of the island, stopping close to Blenheim, Picton, Havelock and Nelson and experiencing the thrill of crossing the Buller Gorge Swing Bridge.

Once on the western seafront, near Westport, they will follow the breath-taking coastline as it leads them south, stopping off at Punakaiki and then visiting the legendary pub of the Theatre Royal Hotel in Kumara further on.

Continuing along the coast, the GIVI Explorers will pass through Hari Hari before reaching the awe-inspiring Fox Glacier and the city of Paringa. Finally, the closing stages of their adventure will take them to the shores of Lake Hawea, the heights of Walter Peak and Mount Earnslaw, close to Queenstown.

Here, they will split into two groups — with different journey lengths — before meeting up again close to Lake Tekapo and returning to Christchurch together for the final day of the trip.

Follow our progress on this incredible journey through GIVI EXPLORER on social media. Our final message for all explorers is the same as it is for every tour…

Explore. Enjoy. With GIVI!
