It was an intense start of the year for all the Team and riders supported by GIVI.
The highlight of January was, of course the Dakar Rally, but the roadracing guys in MotoGP and WSBK are not wasting time preparing for the 2018 season.

The first big date on the calendar for the MotoGP were the tests in Malaysia, at the Sepang circuit. Team LCR Honda riders Cal Crutchlow and newly acquired Japanese rookie Takaaki Nagami had a very positive outing. Cal closed the three-days test session in a spectacular 3rd place (1’59.052) while Takaaki could not break the 2 minutes wall by a hair and closed 15th (2’00.071).
Positive tests also for the Ducati Corse riders: in Malaysia Jorge Lorenzo finished the session with the 4th best time, while Andrea Dovizioso closed in 8th place.
While the MotoGP teams were testing in Asia, the World Superbike squads were getting to work in Portugal, at the Portimao circuit.
GIVI supported Team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing is fielding some of the best talent in both the Supersport and Superbike categories. Living legend Kenan Sofuoglu is working hard to bring back his factory Ninja 600 on the top step of the podium, after the crazy 2017 season. His fellow Turkish, friend and protégé Toprak Razgatlioglu is turning heads in the Superbike class, consistently posting fast laps after he was promoted full time from the Superstock category he raced last year.

Roadracing won't be the only discipline GIVI will be involved with for 2018. Many of you already noticed the great efforts we put in supporting Teams and riders competing in off-road events all over the World.
We already mentioned the Dakar rally, which was the big season opener for the off-road guys. GIVI sponsored Team Monster Energy Honda grabbed a spectacular 2nd place in the final classification with Kevin Benavides, but the squad is already working full steam to prepare for the first round of the World Cross Country Rallies Series, which will be raced in Abu Dhabi at the end of March.

GIVI supported and Factory Yamaha rider and Italian Enduro legend Alessando Botturi is slowly but steadily getting back into racing shape after the nasty crash that forced him out of the Dakar Rally last month, but another Italian talent is at this very moment getting a lot of attention overseas. We are talking about Giacomo Redondi, who recently moved to the United Sates after healing from his shoulder surgery and is competing in the American WORCS (World Off Road Championship Series). He debuted last week in Las Vegas, where he finished 4th overall after fighting through several mechanical difficulties. Next round will be at the end of the month in Arizona, and Redondi is ready for battle.

We know it's a lot of information and there are many riders and disciplines to follow but don't worry: we will help you staying on top of it all by constantly updating GIVI Social Media Channels and publishing our new, monthly GIVI Explorer newsletter. Don't forget to check it out!
